a spring love story AT NORWOOD PARK, NOTTINGHAM BY REBECCA EMILY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Back in March, I collaborated with an awesome team of local wedding suppliers from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to create this laid back luxe wedding-style photoshoot.

If you are thinking of getting married at Norwood Park in Southwell, Nottingham you will adore this styled shoot that I directed. My vision was simple: create a modern, romantic wedding vibe inspired by editorial fashion photography.

WHAT IS A STYLED SHOOT?

If you are new to the concept, a styled shoot is where lots of wedding suppliers get together to create a photoshoot that looks like a wedding. There are lots of reasons to do this. Mostly to create new content, practice skills, and network with fellow suppliers, too. In low season it’s a great way to keep the creative juices flowing and keep you inspired!

The Brief

I was the brains behind this stylish photoshoot. The vibe I wanted was clean, contemporary, and intimate. A delicate colour palette for a soft, romantic wedding atmosphere. Norwood Park, Nottingham was the perfect setting for my vision. We used their gallery room which has gorgeous high ceilings and loads of huge windows flooding the space with natural light. The soft light brought the vision together to create the effortlessly cool aesthetic that I love so much.

THE VENUE

Norwood Park is a country estate situated in Southwell, Nottingham. They offer the perfect blend of old and new with their elegant staircases, chic rooms, and interiors steeped in local history. They also have truly gorgeous grounds that offer endless photograph opportunities. What's more is this estate is private so you can enjoy your wedding here in total privacy.

the details and suppliers

The brief came together perfectly through the collaborative effort of everyone involved. We had Chloe from The Cheshire Make Up Co do our bride, Clara’s makeup. Chloe nailed the brief and gave Clara a warm, glowing look with fluffy eyebrows. Then our bridal hairstylist, Chloe from Cheveux by C gave Clara a simple and elegant half up half down hairstyle. Less was more with both the make-up and hair here.

Libby, from Rosaria Amore Bridal added a bridal gown that complimented the laid back nature of the photoshoot. The gown oozed elegance with its a-line skirt, chiffon sleeves and pleated front. To finish off the look, K Fines Jewellery adorned our bride and groom with clean, contemporary gold pieces of jewellery.

Hattie from Poppy Scout Co provided fresh, pretty florals which were perfect for the vibe I had in mind. The flowers were simple yet romantic which is fitting for a wedding day. The look was all tied together by Abi's from A.R Weddings delicate styling. She embellished the intimate trestle table with a crisp white table cloth, chic black candle sticks, earthly pieces of stone and black cutlery/plates. Grace Nelson created a striking cake in all white with delicate decoration on it, perfect for that modern editorial feel.

THE COUPLE - CLARA + MARLEY

Clara and Marley are an engaged couple who live between the Midlands and Holland. They love to travel and document the beauty of the world on their Instagram account and YouTube channel. They love travel so much that they are getting married in Bali next year! This is also where Marley proposed to Clara, surrounded by red rose petals. Marley spent a year planning his proposal and kept it secret until the day finally came whilst they were travelling in Bali and it could not have been more romantic.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

The love between Clara and Marley was my main inspiration. I gently guided them into relaxed poses and encouraged natural moments between them to make them feel at ease with me and my camera. They really are head over heels for each-other and this poured through my camera.

My main influence within my wedding photography is vintage snapshot moments typically found on old rolls of 35mm film infused with an editorial fashion vibe and lots of intimacy between the couples I photograph. It's important to me that I capture a couple's personality and that we get to know each-other during our time together. I like to use a good mix of black and white photographs in my work, there is something I find so intimate and touching about a good black and white image that I can't help but add lots to all my galleries!
