Loved up and relaxed woodland engagement photographs
I met Bryan and Philip at a wedding fair in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We hit it off straight from the start. They are getting married in May this year so we organised a free pre-wedding photo-shoot to get them used to being around the camera before I photograph their wedding in Twin Oaks Hotel also in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. This is especially helpful if you are like me and hate having your photo taken. Yep - even some of us photographers don't like being in front of the camera!
The important bit..
Fast forward a month or two - we met in a pine forest that is nestled between Chesterfield and Matlock. I use this area quite a lot for my photography so you may see it pop up every now and then. This woodland is quiet and you only really see the occasional dog walker there so its great for a photo session.
It is important to me that the people I am photographing feel relaxed and understand how laid back I am as a photographer. I’m not pushy; I want my couples to feel at ease with me and know that there is no pressure. This is the best way to capture emotion instead of poses.
Alongside capturing the intimate moments between Bryan and Phillip, I got them to mess around a little bit which showed their personality and made them relax a little. I left the session feeling warmed by the love and kindness that these two people have for one and other.
Engagement photoshoots are a fab way for you to get used to being around the camera and so you don’t feel like you want to duck and hide when you see the lens on your wedding day! Initially Bryan & Phillip weren’t going to have this photoshoot as Phillip hates having his picture taken but as I am sure you can see from my photographs, he soon relaxed.
These sessions are also a good way for you to get to know me a little bit too and you’ll feel much more at ease around me on at the wedding once we have already met.
